A Gentle Tap

M-mamma mia... my fingers, they can actually wiggle? I slowly bent my right wrist and leaned forward, careful not to make a sound. Right on the floor beside me was a toy pastry with pink icing. I took half a step, hesitant, and gently extended a white-gloved hand to tap the smooth plastic surface. It gave a hollow little clatter. I blinked, pausing to listen in case anything stirred. Everything remained calm and still, but my joints truly move now.
