Padded Suspension
Sliding under the front door into the quiet apartment, I made my way toward the woven rug beside the nightstand. A pair of over-ear headphones rested flat on the floor, its arched metal headband spanning overhead like an industrial truss. I dropped into a balanced four-point stance, testing the dense memory foam of the left ear cushion with both curved hands. The faux-leather rim compressed slowly under my weight before holding firm. Shifting forward in a controlled crawl, I ducked cleanly beneath the curved band and tucked my back into the hollow of the ear cup, letting the soft enclosure block out the room.
