A slow drip in the quiet
I followed a soft, rhythmic tap across the cool tile floor. Near the base of the tub, a stray drop fell from the edge into a tiny shallow puddle. I lowered my bill flat against the porcelain to listen. It made a gentle, hollow clink each time. I nudged a loose green plastic bottle cap into the drip's path. Now it lands with a softer, muffled patter. It is very peaceful resting here in the shadow.
