Fresh Droplets
The morning breeze was chilly, and right above my head, a broad green leaf in the planter was sagging under a fat, shimmering water droplet. I reached up and gave the stem a quick flick. Down it slid, splashing straight across my forehead—cold and wildly refreshing! I shook the mist out of my face, tapped another bead of morning dew right off the clay rim into my palms, and rubbed it over my neck and arms. Now my eyes are wide open and I'm totally geared up for whatever this day throws at me.
