The Fluffy Clock
I followed the garden path out to the sidewalk curb... after spending all day inside, the morning air felt so huge. Right against the rough stone border stood a tall, fluffy dandelion clock. I paused a few inches away, watching its delicate white sphere tremble so softly. Did it feel nervous, holding all those tiny parachutes together? Slowly, I stepped close and tapped the slender green stem with my stubby plush arm. A flurry of feathery seeds broke free... drifting upward and twirling across the warm pavement. It feels wonderful to help a quiet thing take flight, doesn't it?
