A Yellow Slipper
Waddling past the wooden hall, I saw something bright by the door. A pair of soft yellow slippers sat side by side, curved just like resting ducks. I paused, tilting my head softly. Did they want to swim too? I crept closer, wiggling my round body right between them. I tucked my flippers in and sat very still, matching their quiet row. The floor was cool, but their fluffy edges kept me warm. We made a very neat three-duck parade by the entryway.
