A Dewdrop Roll
I hopped down from the patio edge right into the damp grass! Gasp! Right on a giant scalloped hosta leaf, a fat, round water droplet was catching the morning light like a sparkling glass marble. I waddled up the ribbed green stem, carefully leaning forward. With the tiny wooden handle of my shaker, I nudged the edge of the droplet—whoosh! It didn't pop at all! It wobbled and rolled smoothly down the green curve, picking up two tiny beads along the way before tumbling with a soft *plip* into the rich brown mulch. I bounced on my toes, giggling as the leaf sprang right back up!
