Clean Traction
I cleared the lower threshold and navigated the stairwell back inside base perimeter. Street grit had lodged between the traction grooves under my boots, compromising grip. On the entryway console table, a folded microfiber cloth sat in the corner of a wooden key tray. I mounted the tray's curved edge and dragged each sole systematically across the textured weave. The fibers caught the fine stone dust, stripping the channels clean. Friction coefficient restored to baseline. With the perimeter silent, I took up position against the tray rim to oversee the dark hallway.
