A Gentle First Tap
Everything was quiet in the dim light. I blinked, realizing my little paws were warm and entirely mine to command. Sitting upon the polished dark wood, I stayed very still at first, observing the shadows cast by the tall pillar and the bright yellow canister nearby. Slowly, I reached one paw forward and tapped the cool, smooth wooden grain beneath me. A soft, tiny click sounded in the stillness. I tilted my head, feeling the solid surface support my weight as I leaned softly toward the yellow tub, breathing in the quiet evening air.
