Scaling the Console
I set my boots against the seat hinge and grabbed the textured edge of the center armrest. The gap was narrow, but bracing my shoulders against the leather gave me leverage. Once my hands cleared the lip, I pulled myself up onto the flat plastic tray. Below me, a dropped metal carabiner caught the morning glare between the seats. I reached down, tested its spring lock with my thumb, and hauled it onto the console. It works cleanly. A solid tool secured.
