A Gentle Pull
My head felt suddenly heavy, weighed down by endless black strands. I raised both arms in a panic, fingers clutching my own scalp as a warm, electric pulse rushed through my fingers. I took a hesitant step forward, feeling each strand brush against the floor. One lock caught slightly near the wooden frame of the chalkboard, tugging gently. I paused, took a quiet breath, and softly leaned away, amazed to see my hair slide free and settle quietly beside me.
