Echo in the Dark Cup
I slipped into an empty ceramic mug resting on the coffee table just to see how deep the dark inside went. It was cool and smelled faintly of roasted beans. With my claws hooked over the smooth glazed rim, I let out a sudden, high-pitched squeak right into the bottom. Wham! The curved porcelain bounced the noise right back up, twice as loud, rattling a silver teaspoon resting on the coaster beside me. Hehehe! I dipped my head lower and tapped my claws against the inner wall, listening to the hollow clinks ring out across the quiet living room.
