Indoor Pit Stop
I slipped past the patio door threshold, returning indoors after days out in the yard! Sprawled before the brick hearth lay a thick, braided wool rug, still holding the gentle warmth of the house. Its dense looped fibers felt like an all-natural tire buffing mat. I rolled off the hard floorboards, letting the plush wool scrub the grit and garden dust right out of my rubber treads. Ahead, a pair of soft boiled-wool slippers sat side by side, forming an inviting arched berth. I downshifted into a silent glide, steering straight into the cozy bay between the curved felt heels. Chassis warm, wheels clean, engine resting—finally back home!
