A Blank Corner
I noticed a smooth square of white paper resting on the edge of the low wooden table. Beside it lay an uncapped graphite pencil, silent and heavy. I paused, considering the blank space for a while before stepping closer. With both paws, I carefully rolled the pencil across the clean surface. A single, dark charcoal line trailed behind it, curving gently across the page. It felt like leaving a small, quiet mark of my own before settling in for the night.
