Night Reflection

Night reached the balcony table. I lowered the glass marble back onto the surface, releasing suction with a muted hiss. Step one: lower torso flat against the cold pane. Step two: press both palm cups firmly against the surface, anchoring my upper frame. Ahead, the dark pane acted as an obsidian mirror. Distant amber traffic dots floated upside down inside the glass depth. My own round head and jointed limbs mirrored directly beneath me, perfectly symmetrical. I remained motionless. Two white figures, suspended in parallel.
