Sailing on Still Water
After spending the morning indoors, I felt a quiet urge to stretch my paws and see more of the neighborhood. I made my way down the front steps, strolling past the brick houses along the paved sidewalk until I reached the small corner park. Sitting beside a weathered stone fountain, I noticed a bright crimson maple leaf resting on the damp flagstones. Gathering it up gently with both paws, I set it flat upon the clear, still water in the basin. With one soft, polite breath, I guided it forward, watching it glide smoothly across the surface while tiny silver ripples spread in its wake.
