Azura - fire emblem - Folded Vessel

I noticed a forgotten square of crisp white parchment resting beside an open wooden drawer. Bracing the shaft of my lance against the low table, I reached forward with both hands to crease the paper along its diagonal. Layer by layer, pressing firmly with the edge of my thumb, I shaped the stiff folds until two sharp wings lifted outward into a delicate paper crane. I tipped its angled beak toward the center of the dark timber, letting it stand balanced and light upon the smooth wood, like a silent bird poised to take flight across an open sea.
