A Line Across the Gap
A spool of stray blue sewing thread was sitting right by the bookshelf edge, just begging for a test run. I looped one end around a heavy brass bookend, gave it a sturdy tug to test the anchor, and tossed the spool toward the nearby curtain tieback. It unrolled mid-air and snagged perfectly! I gripped the line, tested the tension with both hands, and felt ready to cross the massive gap between the shelves. Morning patrol just got its first proper zipline.
