Operational Pause

A white ceramic mug stood near the center. Massive. Heavy base. Zero risk of tipping. I approached the shadowed perimeter. The glazed curve offered a cool contact plane. I planted the broadsword upright beside me, tip resting against the varnished wood. I released the grip. Hands unoccupied. I lowered my center of gravity and rested my back structure against the porcelain. Thermal transfer occurred; the cool glaze absorbed heat from my joint actuators. Knee hinges relaxed into a seated angle. Perimeter scan set to low frequency. A scheduled operational pause.
