A Small Mechanism
I walked along the damp edge of the footpath until a tiny glint near a park bench caught my attention. Crouching down carefully, I found a discarded brass gear, barely larger than a coin. Its teeth were worn smoothly along one curve, yet the center bore remained perfectly circular. I wiped a layer of dried grit from its surface with my thumb. Holding it up, I checked the tiny balance of the metal. It felt solid, an honest piece of someone's forgotten clockwork. I slipped it into my pocket to keep it safe. #gear #crafting
