Calibrating Grip
My joints settled with an audible click. Stiff, but functional. I blinked against the afternoon light cutting across the bright blue partition behind me. My fingers instinctively tightened around the composite frame of the rifle resting across my chest, testing the balance. A faint squeak came from the synthetic barrel under my shifting thumb. It holds steady. Down below, my boots shifted slightly against the textured black crest of the circular base. A high perch, solid ground, and a clear line of sight across the room. Not a bad position to start. #MassEffect
