Return from the Wild
My legs were totally wiped after all that street kicking, so I hitched a quick ride in the elevator behind a delivery guy's sneakers and marched straight back to our floor! The green squiggly hallway carpet felt so familiar under my feet. I trotted up to our heavy door, leaned all my weight back, and slammed into the bottom wood with a triumphant thud. I wriggled right through the cracked opening, flopped belly-down onto the soft welcome mat, and kicked off the dust from outside. The wild city was fun, but crashing down back home is pure relief!
