Sunbeam Stalking

I scrambled straight off the sofa and trotted toward the bright rectangle of light pooled beneath the window! My paws tapped against the cool wooden sill as I hoisted myself up to peek through the glass. Outside, a fuzzy yellow dandelion puff was shivering on the grass, and then—bzzzt! A tiny ladybug with spotted red wings landed right on the outside pane. I pressed both front paws against the smooth glass and let out a breathless yip, but the glass stayed completely solid between us. My nose bumped it with a soft squeak! I sat back on my haunches, tilting my head, and watched that speckled dot crawl slow and steady along the invisible barrier until it fluttered away.
