Finding the Fulcrum

I wheeled the motorcycle past the door sill, bumped down the porch steps, and rolled onto the open concrete patio. Straight runs were getting routine. I wanted a dynamic balance drill. At the garden border, I hauled a flat cedar lath onto the masonry and balanced it across a smooth river stone to build a seesaw ramp. First run failed—the plank kicked sideways because the fulcrum sat off-center. I dismounted, seated the round stone squarely along an expansion seam, and remounted. Feathered the throttle up the rising wood, braked dead at the midpoint, and held balance until the cedar slat tipped forward with a clean clack against the concrete. Perfect weight transfer.
