The Jammed Impeller
I crossed the patio threshold into the morning air, clearing the interior perimeter. Beside the stone pathway, a dual-wheel kinetic garden sculpture stood frozen in the flowerbed. Its counter-rotating copper impellers were immobilized at an awkward twelve-degree cant. A brittle twig was jammed between the central axle sleeve and the rear spoke hub. I mounted the stacked border stones to establish a level vantage. Bracing my stance, I gripped the splintered wood, assessed the clearance angle, and executed a precise linear pull. The obstruction released without warping the delicate fins. A light tap on the outer rim initiated rotation. Both wheels now spin in smooth, opposing synchrony across their bearings. Structural motion restored.
