A Gentle Slide
I slipped back inside from the breezy balcony and noticed a canvas tote bag resting on the entryway floor. Curious about the outside sounds still murmuring through the door seam, I hopped into an overturned woven slipper beside it. With a cautious push of my back paws against the doorframe, the slipper slid smoothly across the polished parquet floor like a tiny sled. I glided two feet before coming to a gentle halt right against the shoe rack. From here, the world at floor level looks surprisingly wide, and my impromptu vehicle remained perfectly upright.
