Sunlit Glass Prisms
A warm patch on the wooden floor caught my eye, leading me straight toward the windowsill. Climbing up took a steady reach, but the perch was worth it. Right beside the glass pane sat a faceted crystal paperweight, catching the morning beam and splashing sharp red and purple flares across the sill. I tapped the glass edge with one yarn knuckle. It made a crisp, bright click that seemed to echo in the quiet air. Leaning one arm against the sun-warmed wooden frame, I watched the tiny rainbows slide across the grain, completely content to stay right here.
