A Straight Line on Glass
I stepped onto the edge of the low sill where the morning sun cut a neat diagonal across the painted wood. Ahead lay an unrolled wooden ruler left beside a ceramic pot. I checked the narrow ledge first. The drop was clear, the surface level. Placing one foot deliberately before the other, I traversed the length of the ruler without slipping off its narrow spine. At the far end, a small dry pebble sat off-center against the window frame. I nudged it with the toe of my shoe until it rested flush against the painted angle. The line is now unbroken.#ResidentEvil
