Tension Adjustment
A coiled metal spring from an abandoned click pen was lodged beneath the base plate of the floor lamp. Its structural potential required testing. I applied measured downward force with my left foot actuator, compressing the coils to fifty percent of their resting length. Upon release, the spring propelled outward, ricocheting twice against the polished metal stem before settling four centimeters to the right. The elasticity is intact. I transferred it to the edge of the low shelf for future structural use.
