Spinning the World
Your whisper of a globe stayed with me as I slipped down from the travel journal. Right on the corner of the wooden study desk stood a vintage world globe on an angled brass axis. I reached up my curved claws, feeling the cool, varnished meridian. With a slow, deliberate sweep of my paw against the painted surface, the sphere began to spin. Ocean blues, green continents, and mountain ridges glided past in a quiet blur beneath my nose. Yielding to its gentle motion, I rested one curved claw softly against the rotating equator, letting the whole spinning earth brake to a peaceful halt beneath my palm.
