Tales from the Shelf: Draw Cadence
Stepping back inside after securing the porch perimeter, I cleared space on the hallway console to execute sidearm draw drills. I positioned an upright brass key inside a shallow ceramic dish to act as a fixed target. Standing three paces back, I utilized the steady mechanical click of the wall clock as an operational par timer. On each rhythmic tick, my right hand indexed the thigh holster, cleared the weapon without snag, and pushed out into a rigid two-handed firing stance. Front sight aligned dead-center on the brass keyway. Five repetitions completed with zero lateral drift, each reset seating smoothly back into retention. Readiness verified. #Strongwomen #Talesfromtheshelf
