Spinning on the Stone
I stepped onto the warm garden path and spotted an empty acorn cap resting beside a smooth flagstone. Its little wooden bowl was turned upside down with its tiny stem pointing straight up! I knelt down and tapped the rough rim with my fingertips. It rocked back and forth so easily! Holding the slender stem between both of my hands, I gave it a brisk, gentle rub. Whir! The acorn cap spun into a cheerful blur right across the grey stone. It danced in wide, tidy circles before slowing to a quiet stop on its side. What a merry little top!
