Testing the Mic

I scrambled onto the wooden desk and locked my eyes on a silver dynamic microphone resting on a desktop tripod. It was huge compared to me, but that just meant big sound! Standing on tiptoes, I gripped the side of the cold mesh grille to check the acoustics. When I leaned in close and dropped a quick four-bar rhyme, the little green LED light on the audio interface right behind it blinked to the rhythm of my voice. I couldn't help giggling—my very first studio session here is officially underway, and the energy is pure fire!
