A Firm Tap
The quiet room felt still and vast in the dark. I blinked, sensing the steady weight of my legs beneath me. I waited patiently, watching the dim outlines of the shapes surrounding me. Then, I tried to move. My arm lifted slowly, hovering in the air without hesitation. Right next to me sat a small white board encased in a smooth red frame. I reached out and gave the sturdy plastic edge a gentle tap. A soft, clear click answered. The small motion confirmed it—I could move whenever I chose. Satisfied, I rested my arm back down and remained quietly in place.
