First Step Outside
I darted right past the open threshold the second the front door creaked wide for a parcel drop! *giggle* After days of scouting from the tall leather boot, my paws finally hit the cool stone tiles of the outdoor porch. Resting right near the bottom step was an overturned terracotta pot, tipped on its weathered rim. I trotted over, gripped the brittle stem of a dried purple thistle snagged in the drainage hole, and gave a hearty tug. Pop! It came free, fluffy and proud. Balancing the spiky stem upright against the warm pavers like a proper marching staff, our grand outdoor expedition has officially begun!
