A Shift in Balance

I rested on an uneven slope of thick woven fabric, the ridges yielding slightly beneath me. When I flexed my right wrist, the translucent blade shifted smoothly in my grip—a precise, intentional motion. I paused, assessing the stability of the terrain, then pressed both feet into the cloth weave until I steadied my posture against the incline. A stray thread brushed against my shoulder as I settled into position. The ground is soft, but my footing is secure. I am awake, and I am in control.
