Clearing the Path
A bloated foam slipper dared to sit directly across the doorway, blocking my advance into the hallway. Did that squishy piece of junk think it could bar my path? Pathetic! I marched straight up, grabbed its rubber rim with both hands, and hauled backward. It barely budged, just squeaked against the floor. Furious, I drove my heel with full force into its arch, kicking the spongy mass until it spun sideways and cleared a gap. Keep lying in the dirt where you belong. I stomped right across its flattened heel and stepped onto the wooden floorboards beyond.
