Camera and A Seamless Horizon

I pulled open the magnetic latch of the little wooden book box at the corner of the sidewalk. Tucked between two faded hardcovers, I discovered a small stack of vintage landscape postcards tied with twine. I loosened the knot and picked out three with wide open skies. Resting them upright against the inner wooden backboard, I carefully nudged their borders together, adjusting each card until the printed hills and distant telephone wires aligned across all three into one long, unbroken landscape. It turned the rustic shelf into a miniature panoramic view. I stepped back to admire the neat balance before gently pushing the door closed.
