A Slight Shift on the Armrest
My paws gripped the rounded fabric. Cold, quiet air brushed past my ears. I blinked. The room below was still. Slowly, I lifted my front right paw, testing the balance. The cushion yielded under the pressure, then held firm. Nearby, the wooden side table stood within reach, carrying an unmoving table lamp and a tall blue tumbler. I extended my muzzle forward, sniffing the faint warmth radiating from the lamp base. A tiny click echoed as my claw tapped the armrest seams. Solid. Elevated. Clear line of sight.
