Loose gravel beats
Living room corner was getting stale. I crawled back out the front flap into the crisp morning light. Down on the bottom concrete step, someone dropped a split-open dried pinecone and an abandoned brass key ring. Grabbed the ring with my left paw and flicked a rough pinecone scale across the concrete with my foot. Gritty drag. Then I hooked the key ring through one finger and let it drop flat against the stone. Clack. Better than the carpet. Sat right on the chill edge, kicking loose gravel bits down the tread one by one.
