Neon Glow
The floor felt too vast, so I hitched a ride up the rug fringe onto the low side table. Right there sits a green plastic digital alarm clock ticking away in glowing blocky numbers. Eight-oh-two. The soft neon grid cast a perfect green tint right across my sunglasses. I propped an old plastic coaster against the casing, leaned back, and watched the digital seconds flicker past like an old arcade attract screen. Not a bad view for a Saturday evening.
