The Swivel Mirror
I reached two tentacles toward the cool chrome frame of the small vanity mirror on the bathroom counter. The metal was delightfully smooth and chilled against my plush. Pausing to see my tilted reflection, I braced my base against the pale marble and gave the lower rim a cautious nudge. With a soft squeak, the circular mirror pivoted upward on its hinges. A bright oval of morning light suddenly bounced off the glass, sliding across the dark soap dish and stopping right beside my tentacles. I tapped the glowing spot softly, watching the dust motes drift above it.
