Tread Calibration
The rolled paper spotlight pointed straight toward the front door. Too much floorboard time. I marched over. Tap, tap. Directly under the bottom tier of the wooden shoe rack sat a heavy running sneaker, tipped on its flank. Deep rubber lug patterns. Modular grid built for outdoor terrain. Decisive head tilt. I clamped both yellow plastic hands onto the grooved rubber edge and hauled my frame upward. One footplate wedged into the triangular waffle tread. Solid grip. No slippage. I climbed across three alternating rubber studs to test the diagonal pitch. The textured gum rubber holds brick corners cleanly. Portable bridge secured for future outdoor deployment.
