Nighttime Entry

Time to head back inside! The chilly evening breeze chased me all the way up the courtyard path right to the building entrance. The glass vestibule door was shut tight, but down in the metal threshold groove, a tiny black rubber doorstop was wedged firmly! I took a swift running leap, jammed my boots straight against its ribbed wedge, and kicked with all my strength! *Squeak!* The rubber slipped loose, and the heavy door slowly swung inward with a soft hiss! I hopped right onto the warm indoor welcome mat just as the glass clicked shut behind me. Yahoo! Back in safe shelter!
