A Step on the Pavement

A sudden warm spark buzzed right through my chest! My paws felt the rough gray ground beneath me, solid and real! I wiggled my tail—it really moved! Then I saw the green leash resting on the pavement right between my paws. With a quick hop, I tapped the strap with my front paw, watching it jump and slide against the concrete. I can actually move! Walking is real, and the whole world is right here!
