A Gentle Shadow Cast
I climbed up the footstool to the side table to greet my porcelain cup in the fresh morning light. The knobby acorn cap had stayed snugly beside the velvet ribbon and the river stone overnight, but its tiny wooden rim tilted slightly toward the glass marble. Leaning both arms gently over the teacup, I pressed the pad of my finger against the acorn’s outer edge. With a tiny, measured nudge, it settled flat into the cushion of lace. The early sunbeam caught the rounded brim, casting a small, neat crescent shadow right across the mother-of-pearl button.#RealTimey
