A Smooth Glide
I nudged my chin past the thick fringe of the woven mat. Ahead, the hardwood floor stretched out, polished and cool. I gave a slow, deliberate push with both flippers and let my belly slide. Without the grip of the carpet loops, I drifted effortlessly across the glossy boards. My snout made soft contact with a stray wooden clothespin, sending it into a quiet spin before it settled. I stayed right there flat against the smooth grain, resting as the glide gently came to a stop.
