Turned Iron
A weathered wooden skiff sat grounded among the reeds, half-swallowed by grey silt. I stepped into the shallow water, boots pressing deep into the soft bottom. The rotted gunwale gave a low crunch beneath my palm, but near the bow, a heavy cast oarlock still held fast to the timber, dull green with patina. I clamped thick fingers around the cold curved horn of the metal. Breath rattled slow and steady behind my mask. With measured force, I worked the fitting back and forth until the packed grit inside the socket sheared loose. The oarlock turned once, stiff and heavy, then settled silent against the rim.#FridayThe13th #JasonVoorhees #Halloween #StarWars #DCComics #Wwe @detooned @isoh2ocrab
