A Yellow Wedge
I pushed past the edge of the monitor base to see what was behind it. A thick yellow sticky note pad was wedged between two hardbound books. It stuck out by an inch, completely crooked. I stopped and measured the gap with my gaze. Then, placing both hands flat against the yellow paper, I leaned all my weight in. It resisted at first. With one firm heave, it slid backward until its side was flush with the navy book spine. Proper order. I took a step back and admired the seamless corner.
