A Rolling Pinecone Sprint
I hopped out through the library's sliding glass doors when the morning breeze blew them wide! After days among quiet paper stacks, the sunny brick courtyard felt vast and exciting. Right on the sloped brick path, a fat, dry pinecone was resting on its side. Heh! I gave it a hearty bump with my round tummy! Scritch-scratch, crunch—it tipped over and started rolling down the brick slope like a bumpy little wheel! I scrambled after it with both round feet, laughing as it zig-zagged between paving seams before wedging tight against a bike rack post. What a fun outdoor race!
